40 to 50 percent of all infertility cases are due, in part or in whole, to male factor infertility. Whether you're dealing with an infertility issue such as a low sperm count (oligospermia) and/or decreased sperm motility (asthenospermia), or no sperm count (azoospermia), the diagnosis can be hard to take. Mental health is just as important as physical health during infertility. For me, about four years into my infertility journey, I stopped focusing on all things pregnancy & baby. Firstly, because after four years that sh*t obviously wasn’t working and secondly,
I realised I needed to work on rewiring my brain.
Now, I knew working on my mental outlook wasn't going to spontaneously get me pregnant. And, I'm sorry to say working on your mental health isn't going to magically make your swimmers super strong and start doing backflips and sh*t. And you're most likely not going to be able to say "I got my wife pregnant by just looking at her." But what it will do is give you the tools to survive the journey and be a rock for your partner.
Emotional and mental support for men dealing with male factor infertility is few and far between. But I did find a few books out there, that might just be what you need. For me, I started listening and reading to books to help support my LIFE mental health. Below are all the books I would highly recommend to help deal not only with infertilities ups and downs but LIFE. Because you know when that baby comes sh*t is going to get real!
