The Truth About Food Sensitivity Testing for Infertility: Why I Use MRT Over IgG

When it comes to infertility and diet, the conversation often circles around what to eat, what not to eat, and which food sensitivity test is “the best.” If you've ever felt confused or overwhelmed by conflicting information about gut health and fertility nutrition, you're not alone.

As someone who’s walked the fertility path myself—and now works with women trying to conceive using functional approaches—I’ve had all the same questions. Which test is most accurate? Do I really need to do an elimination diet? Are food sensitivities even real? Let’s break it all down.

The Link Between Gut Health, Inflammation & Infertility

Before we talk about testing, it’s important to understand the bigger picture. Chronic inflammation—often driven by gut issues and hidden food sensitivities—can be a major factor in unexplained infertility. Inflammation affects everything from hormone balance to egg quality to implantation. So getting to the root cause of inflammation is a critical part of any natural fertility journey.

Not All Food Sensitivity Tests Are Created Equal

Most people are familiar with IgG or IgA food sensitivity panels. These tests measure antibody levels in response to specific foods, and they’re commonly recommended alongside a 21–30 day food elimination plan. The idea is to remove the foods your body is reacting to in order to calm the immune system and promote healing.

Sounds great in theory, right? But here’s where things get tricky…

IgG testing often flags the foods we eat most often—not necessarily the foods that are creating inflammation. High antibody levels can simply indicate exposure, not a problematic immune reaction. That’s why so many people end up eliminating everything they love and still don’t feel any better.

Why I Use MRT (Mediator Release Test) Instead

In my fertility coaching practice, I choose to use the MRT LEAP 176 test over traditional IgG tests for one simple reason: it measures the end result of a food sensitivity—not just antibodies.

MRT identifies how much inflammation your immune system is releasing in response to specific foods and chemicals. It looks at the actual mediators (like histamine, prostaglandins, cytokines) that are released when your body is triggered. This gives us a much clearer picture of what’s truly inflaming your body.

In other words: MRT tests the body’s reaction—not just its memory.

Less Guesswork, More Clarity

One of the biggest reasons I love MRT for women struggling with infertility is that it removes a lot of the guesswork. It allows us to take targeted action without months of elimination dieting and confusion. While no food sensitivity test is 100% perfect—every test is just a snapshot in time—MRT consistently provides a more actionable roadmap.

It’s also helpful for clients who are already stressed out and overwhelmed by strict protocols. When you're working on healing your gut, supporting your hormones, and improving your fertility naturally, simplicity matters.

Why I Don’t Follow “The Science” Blindly

It’s also worth saying: I don’t follow “the science” blindly anymore. Over the years, I’ve come to see that even functional medicine and Ayurvedic practices carry their own deep-rooted biases—just like conventional medicine. What works for one person doesn’t always work for another.

That’s why I teach intuition and discernment at the core of everything I do. I've seen too many women stuck in loops, following all the “right” diets and protocols, and still not getting pregnant. Real healing—and real fertility—comes from a mix of information, intuition, and alignment.

Infertility and Diet: Where to Start

If you’re navigating infertility and wondering where to begin with diet, here’s my suggestion:

  • Don’t guess—get guidance. MRT can help you understand which foods are quietly stoking inflammation in your body.

  • Ditch the dogma. Just because a food is “healthy” doesn’t mean it’s healthy for you.

  • Focus on you, not what worked for someone else. Bio-individuality is everything.

  • And most importantly? Stay curious. Stay open. Stay empowered.
You have more power than you’ve been led to believe.

If you want to dive deeper into the role of diet, gut health, and inflammation on your fertility, you can access the MRT test through the DREAMS method—without having to pay high 1:1 coaching fees. It’s a simple, strategic way to get clarity and start supporting your body the way it actually needs.

Listen up, lovelies: Everything I share about health, diet, or fertility magic is my opinion. Yep, it’s all based on years of trial and error, study, reading, listening, and side-eyeing the nonsense out there. What worked for me might be a jackpot for you—or it might be a total flop. Bodies are weird like that. 🤷‍♀️

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, dietitian, or any other kind of licensed health wizard. If you need medical advice, run—don’t walk—to an actual qualified professional. Don’t come back here saying Monique told you to eat kale for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, okay?

As for the products I mention, they’re either what I used during my own infertility rollercoaster or what I wish I’d known about back then. No guarantees, no promises, and absolutely no refunds on your hope budget if it doesn’t work out.

Now that we’ve cleared that up, proceed with curiosity and, above all, discernment. You’ve got this. 💪✨
